Topics and highlights from the JOBLINGE locations

From Hamburg to Munich: Once a quarter, we present all the latest developments, highlights and topics from our JOBLINGE locations.
Find out what our colleagues and participants are up to here!

JOBLINGE gAG Berlin

The joy of working with participants in person again is all the greater now that our Berlin colleagues have moved into their new office in Schöneberg: Spacious meeting and seminar rooms will accommodate even more young people in future, which we are very happy about!

The PLAN A activation campaign continues this year in Berlin.
The first digital job fair took place in February.
The overwhelming result: 52 discussions between 16 companies (including our partners DPDHL, Deutsche Bahn, Bausch & Lomb and Rewe) and 37 young adults looking for an apprenticeship.

The first participants have already been able to impress and secure internships or follow-up interviews.
The feedback from companies was also positive – a continuation of the digital job fairs is very welcome!

JOBLINGE gAG FrankfurtRhineMain

Right at the start of the year, the basecamp academy launched new workshop formats in a total of ten modules for trainees.
The concept was a hit: the Darmstadt team opened the doors to a new basecamp.

After two years of the pandemic and the resulting involuntary standstill, cooperation with partner companies is also coming to life: In Wiesbaden, for example, the participants were given a one-week company tour at Essity with exciting input and direct exchanges.
Three of them impressed with their skills and will start their training at the Mainz-based hygiene paper manufacturer this year.

The Offenbach location and “Energie Versorgung Offenbach” (EVO) are celebrating ten years of cooperation.
The company will be taking part in the PLAN A fair again this year.
With the ambitious goal of exceeding last year’s figures (32 companies, 110 young people and 200 job interviews), the successful format is entering its third round.

The JOBLINGE hybrid project, which was launched this year and is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, aims to make the labor market integration of young people feasible after coronavirus.
To this end, we are bringing together relevant stakeholders from business, the public sector and civil society to resolve tensions in the labor market and reduce the risk of rising youth unemployment after coronavirus.

The Frankfurt Youth Advisory Board has also been resurrected – under the new name “Young Leaders”.
Together with the Frankfurt team, the trainees work on basecamp projects and use their expertise to provide conceptual support.

For International Women’s Day, our partner J.P. Morgan organized a resilience workshop for the young women from the “JOBLINGE for young parents” program.
A big thank you for that!

JOBLINGE gAG Hanse

The new year is now three months old and we are pleased that the gAG Hanse sites have been spared a coronavirus outbreak.
Thanks especially to the young people who have implemented the hygiene measures in a disciplined manner.

The cooperation between gAG Hanse and schools in the context of career guidance projects is very popular.
For this reason, a teacher training course on the topic was held at the end of March to enable teachers to pass on JOBLINGE’s expertise to pupils.

Thanks to the school projects, the Hamburg Port Museum became aware of gAG Hanse and we wouldn’t be JOBLINGE if this didn’t lead to a cooperation: in mid-May, our Hamburg colleagues are planning the third job fair at the Port Museum – this time live and in person.
Maritime professions will be presented there, but participants will also get to know corporate partners from other sectors.
For the first time, young people looking for training will also be invited via the Plan A training campaign.

This year, the focus is on genuine encounters, not only with participants but also with supporters.
At the end of March, gAG Hanse invited its partners to discuss diversity together under the heading “It can be done even better – diversity as an opportunity” – because the biographies, cultures and experiences that young people in particular bring with them are a great treasure.
We are delighted to have Yared Dibaba as our moderator and input provider.

JOBLINGE gAG Leipzig

JOBLINGE gAG Leipzig has been active in the Leipzig-Halle region for ten years now.
Following the successful launch of the Klassik program in Leipzig in 2012, the location in Halle was opened three years later.
Shortly afterwards, the Kompass program for young refugees was also launched in Leipzig in 2016.
To mark the anniversary, we are publishing new stories from trainees, alumni and mentors every two weeks on our website and social media channels.
For example, the inspiring career of Rico Mücke, who would never have thought it possible to realize his dream job as a computer scientist because of his grades.
With JOBLINGE, it worked out and Rico still works in his training company today.

Following the initial successes for the Leipzig-Halle region, another milestone was reached in 2018: the implementation of the TechTeens project.
With a new special feature: for the first time since TechTeens was founded, the young people pitched the idea for a digital solution that they want to implement by the end of the 2021/2022 school year with the help of homemade video formats.
Recently, the TechTeens team also launched a robotics project for the first time.

This year, JOBLINGE Kompass is an official supporter of the Leipzig Integration Fair, a job fair for migrants.
The Leipzig JOBLINGE employees are involved in the organization and acquisition of exhibitors.

There was also a lot going on on the partner front in the first quarter: new partnerships were launched with Greatview, Check24, Globus and IBKM Praxismanagement.
We are very pleased about this!

In addition, the participants once again achieved great things and produced a radio report in cooperation with Radio Corax.
The topics are as varied as the young people themselves: Take a listen here.

JOBLINGE gAG Munich

gAG Munich started the year with a new group at the end of January.
One of the group’s highlights was a visit to the painters’ guild in February.
The participants exchanged ideas with trainee painters and varnishers on site and also proved themselves in practice: for many of them, this was an opportunity to find out more about this career path and try out an internship.

The Munich colleagues’ long-term plan is to further expand cooperation with the guilds and chambers of trade.
To this end, a number of events will be held over the course of the year to demonstrate the training occupations to the participants in practice.

In the Kunstlinge workshop, the young people engaged intensively with works of art from Munich’s Pinakothek museums and created leporellos and sound collages.
One sound collage in particular touched the audience, which included actress and patron Juliane Köhler, during the presentation: the group explored the theme of war to Kline’s “1960 New Year Wall, Night” and gave the audience goosebumps.
A big thank you to the van de Loo Foundation, the Pinakothek der Moderne and the group leaders Dr. Barbara Dabanoglu, Daniel Siebertz and Dr. Gisela Heckmann for making Kunstlinge possible!
The poetry slam workshop, in which the other part of the January group took part, produced very personal, intense and moving texts.

Our alumna Patricia Mihaly is going back to JOBLINGE before her actual apprenticeship starts in September: She has been supporting our colleagues in the umbrella organization in office organization since March and is gaining a lot of valuable experience for her upcoming apprenticeship as an office management assistant at M-net Telekommunikations GmbH.

JOBLINGE gAG Rhineland

Despite the reduced carnival period, the employees of gAG Rheinland have come through the carnival season well: The new premises in Cologne are taking shape and new groups have started training at all locations.
The success of the Kompass team is inspiring!
100% of the participants who left the group recently did so with a contract in hand.

The “JOBLINGE mobil” project funded by the city of Cologne was launched on January 1: street workers approach young people at various locations, giving them the opportunity to network with us directly.
In the initial contact, the needs are determined so that the young men and women can be referred to advice centers that we know – from job centers to public offices.
Other young people need support in writing and proofreading job applications.
Up to 20 young people can register with JOBLINGE mobil and thus receive immediate help for various life situations.

Also new in Cologne: “smart start”.
A social media campaign provides young people with one-off advice: for CVs and cover letters or information on suitable job exchanges.
It is also possible to be referred to JOBLINGE mobil.
Suitable young men and women can also participate directly in the program.

A scholarship holder is currently causing a stir at the Troisdorf location: the young man has moved to India due to his family situation and is taking part in the JOBLINGE program digitally from there.
Despite the great distance, he has been placed as a nursing specialist – a detailed report will soon be available on our social media.
The program will continue in April with a very full group of almost 50 digital participants at the Troisdorf location.

JOBLINGE gAG Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region

The first quarter of 2022 kicked off with a range of new and exciting activities and formats in the metropolitan region. Thanks to the Auf!leben funding, the PLAN A training campaign can now also be extended to rural regions of the Rhine-Neckar district. This means that more young people will have a concrete opportunity for career prospects and that small and medium-sized companies will also benefit from suitable young talent. A big thank you for this!

We are also delighted to welcome HeidelbergCement as a new mentoring partner.
Six employees joined gAG Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar as mentors in February and share their professional and personal expertise with the participants.
The commitment comes at the right time, as two groups have started at both gAG locations.

A special highlight took place as part of “Successfully Trained”, the free support program for apprentices and training companies: JOBLINGE board member Kadim Tas shared his knowledge with trainers and partner companies.
The workshop on pedagogical attitudes in everyday training was met with great interest and was therefore repeated at the end of March.
Many thanks to all participants for the exciting exchange!

JOBLINGE gAG Ruhr

Last year, many of the “barriers to placement” that make it difficult for our young people to access the training market were joined by a new one: being unvaccinated.
With the start of vaccination opportunities, it was therefore a particular concern of the colleagues at gAG Ruhr to inform young people about the benefits of vaccination.
The educational work carried out as part of a workshop on misinformation initiated and conducted by the colleagues and the involvement of a doctor from Bochum University Hospital had a great impact: the vaccination rate among participants in the JOBLINGE program in the Ruhr region is 90 percent.
Digital working makes it possible: the concept then spread from the Ruhr region to other locations as a webinar.

The restrictions in the social and professional context continue to be felt, particularly by the JOBLINGE target group.
Young adults, who already seemed to be left behind before the pandemic, have become even more marginalized.
Public sector structures in the Ruhr region were restricted for a long time by the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that intensive efforts are now needed to reach the target group.
The first digital activation campaigns were a great success in this context.

At the beginning of the year, we were particularly pleased to receive another funding commitment from the EDEKA Future Foundation for the continuation of the pilot project for young parents.
This means that gAG Ruhr will once again be able to support 12 young mothers in finding their way into (part-time) training in 2022.
And something else gave the team courage for the future at the beginning of February: a matching session with 15 mentoring tandems in the Weststadtthalle in Essen – in person.
Finally the personal challenge for our participants again, finally applause again, finally coming together again to work on prospects together.

JOBLINGE gAG Stuttgart Region

The gAG Stuttgart Region got off to a brilliant start to the year: Not only did our colleagues at the Stuttgart and Reutlingen locations welcome three groups of participants in the first quarter, but 2022 also brought with it several new funding projects.
You will certainly be reading more about them here in the future!

The first is the “KOMMpakt” project funded by the Vector Foundation.
KOMMpakt provides our participants with industry-specific training on communicating with target groups (customers, patients, service providers).
The project prepares them for communicative stumbling blocks in training.
As the training courses take place digitally, they can be offered at all four gAG locations and thus benefit as many young people as possible.

Not only the birth of something new, but also the renewal of something that already exists is a special reason to celebrate.
The gAG Region Stuttgart is therefore particularly pleased that its long-standing cooperation partners compentus and zeb.rolfes.schierenbeck.associates have extended their funding for another three years.
The entire team is looking forward to the future and to everything that our joint collaboration will bring.

JOBLINGE Impact Area – the PLAN A numbers!

PLAN A has been impressively successful – several thousand young people have already registered since 2023! But what’s behind these figures? Here we explain how PLAN A reaches young people who would otherwise fall through the cracks and the role our innovative approach plays in this. 5.000 young people registered with PLAN A since 2023! More and more young people have no training and are increasingly difficult to reach. Around 628,000 young people are not in education, training or employment and remain lost in the school-to-work transition as they are difficult for the system to reach (so-called NEETs). However, PLAN A addresses young people where they actually are – on the street or on social media. Because at JOBLINGE, our primary goal is to help as many young people as possible into training and the world of work in the long term. To achieve this goal, we take various approaches
