Social Impact Summit by JOBLINGE x BCG

It’s hard to believe: after months of anticipation and planning, the second BCG x JOBLINGE Social Impact Summit is already behind us. Together with our guests from business, social organizations and politics, we explored the question of how to reach your target group. Accordingly, the motto was “Activate your target group – a strategic view of social impact”.

Together, we not only learned that our most important task is to support the next generation. We also gained extremely insightful and illuminating insights into the lives of young people looking for training and how companies go about finding young skilled workers. We have our great contributors to thank for this:

  • Alina Arcea, participant in the JOBLINGE program
  • Benjamin Cemel, JOBLINGE alumni and apprentice hearing aid acoustician at Hörgeräte Seifert GmbH
  • Andreas Kastner, master hearing aid acoustician and trainer at Hörgeräte Seifert GmbH
  • Felix Gehring, researcher at the rheingold Institute, with which JOBLINGE 2023 conducted the study “Jugend im Stand-By” on the accessibility of young people
  • Nicole Breuer, Team Lead Talent Placement & Partnerships at JOBLINGE
  • Ralf Sieke, Executive Strategic Director TERRITORY

We would like to share these takeaways from the event with you:

  • It is our job to support the next generation and address them in the (digital) spaces where they actually spend time – Ralf Sieke
  • Young people feel left behind by society and are often overwhelmed by the future they carry on their shoulders, e.g. with regard to climate change, shortage of skilled workers, war, etc. – Felix Gehring
  • Application processes must be quick and focus not only on school grades and certificates, but also on getting to know the applicant – Andreas Kastner and Benjamin Cemel
  • The support young people need is highly individual and depends on the situation. This needs to be customized – and not based on what is supposedly missing. But on what is really relevant for the training position – Nicole Breuer

And what particularly moved us?

JOBLINGE participant Alina Arcea’s appeal to all of us not to pigeonhole or stigmatize young people. Rethink the barriers to entry in recruiting and ask yourself what relevance grades or seamless CVs actually have for the position you want to fill.

A big thank you to all the contributors who made this morning so special, especially the JOBLINGE participants and alumni!

JOBLINGE Impact Area – the PLAN A numbers!

PLAN A has been impressively successful – several thousand young people have already registered since 2023! But what’s behind these figures? Here we explain how PLAN A reaches young people who would otherwise fall through the cracks and the role our innovative approach plays in this. 5.000 young people registered with PLAN A since 2023! More and more young people have no training and are increasingly difficult to reach. Around 628,000 young people are not in education, training or employment and remain lost in the school-to-work transition as they are difficult for the system to reach (so-called NEETs). However, PLAN A addresses young people where they actually are – on the street or on social media. Because at JOBLINGE, our primary goal is to help as many young people as possible into training and the world of work in the long term. To achieve this goal, we take various approaches
