Recklinghausen. JOBLINGE is delighted with the generous donation from Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen from the savings lottery of the savings banks.
On February 1, 2022, Dirk van Buer and Michael Gundlach from Sparkasse Vest presented Regional Manager Raphael Karrasch with a cheque for 1,000 euros for the sixth time.
The donation will be used to purchase German-German dictionaries.
These will help JOBLINGE participants with a refugee background to learn and use German more effectively, especially in a professional context.
JOBLINGE, funded by the Recklinghausen district job center, has been active in Vest since 2015, and since 2017 also as JOBLINGE Kompass for young refugees.
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, the programs have been very successfully converted to hybrid implementation.
70 percent of the almost 400 young people have been successfully placed in an apprenticeship as part of the programs since 2015.
“In the exceptional situation that has persisted on the training market for almost two years, we are pooling all our resources with our supporters to continue to offer young people the best possible career prospects. We cannot afford to leave this coronavirus generation behind, neither socially nor economically in view of the increasing demand for skilled workers,” says Raphael Karrasch, Regional Manager of Joblinge gAG Ruhr.
“Reliable and long-standing partners such as Sparkasse Vest are real pillars of support for our successful work,” Karrasch continues, “with the new donation of 1,000 euros, we are able to purchase learning materials for our language workshop, which will enable participants with refugee experience to improve their language skills, including with regard to professional colloquial language.”
Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen has been a firm partner of the project since its launch in 2015.
“Being close to the community is a special feature of Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen, which is why we want to be more than just a donor. Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen is firmly rooted in the entire business area and supports a large number of institutions,” says Dirk van Buer, member of the Board of Management. “It is particularly important to us to use our financial commitment to support very specific projects that are highly relevant to society and provide effective help. “At Joblinge, we can do this very effectively and sustainably,” adds Michael Gundlach, Head of the Training and Further Education department.
The JOBLINGE project has been offered in the Ruhr region since 2013 and can now look back on a consistently positive nine years.
With locations in Essen (since 2013), Gelsenkirchen (since 2014) and Recklinghausen (since 2015), Joblinge gAG Ruhr has enrolled almost 1,700 young people in the program as of January 2022.
Seven out of ten participants in Essen, Gelsenkirchen and Recklinghausen leave the program with career prospects – some of which are completely new to them.
However, JOBLINGE not only stands for efficient placement in unsubsidized training, but also for sustainability as part of the aftercare and training support.
Almost 90 percent of those placed were still in training six months after starting their apprenticeship and thus overcame the hurdle of the probationary period, which greatly minimizes their risk of dropping out.
Through digitally supported contact creation and the demonstrably successful hybrid support of participants and alumni, JOBLINGE currently provides one of the best possible instruments against youth unemployment in order to create equal opportunities and enable educational advancement even in these difficult times.
