The war against Ukraine continues and for refugees from Ukraine its course and their future are uncertain. Integration into the labor market is an important issue – both for the refugees and for the German economy and society. Nevertheless, they often face numerous challenges and hurdles in their search for employment and apprenticeships.
Since 2022, work4u we support refugees from Ukraine as they arrive in Germany and enter the labor market. Our aim is to provide quick and unbureaucratic support in overcoming the hurdles into labor market integration and the search for an apprenticeship.
More and more refugees are completing language and integration courses, which should make it easier for them to enter the job market. However, the reality shows that the need for support in integrating into the labor market and finding a training position is still very much needed- and will continue to increase as the war continues.
Refugees continue to face challenges that make it difficult for them to access the labour market.
Long and bureaucratic recognition procedures for professional qualifications. Lack of knowledge about the German labor and apprenticeship market. Insufficient language skills (too few language courses on offer, traumatic experiences make language acquisition more difficult) Uncertainty due to bureaucracy and legislation.
A few weeks after the start of the attack on Ukraine, we and our partners created the first support services with work4u.

Quotes
to"A few weeks after the start of Russia's war against Ukraine, we bundled our labor market support for Ukrainian refugees in our work4u platform: The focus was on native language advice, volunteers as a language tandem and for initial orientation, and a workshop offering specifically for starting a career in Germany. The aim now is to consolidate this offer and meet the continuing high demand."
