History

From a local initiative against youth unemployment to a nationwide organization that activates young people for the labour market, places them in apprenticeships and supports them along the way: This is the path we have been following together with our partners and supporters since 2007.
2008

How can we better integrate low-skilled young people into the labor market?
It all began in 2007 with this question from the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs.
In order to find an answer, the Boston Consulting Group and the Eberhard von Kuenheim Foundation of BMW AG joined forces and founded the JOBLINGE initiative.
In April 2008, the first location opened in Zwiesel in the Bavarian Forest (later a non-profit organization (gAG) Bayerwald).

2009

In order to test the effectiveness of our concept in the city after the rural region, we launched the gAG Munich as a second pilot location in April 2009.
After the approach proved successful and we were able to inspire our first partners and supporters, eight more gAGs followed throughout Germany.

2012
In order to continuously develop and adapt our concept and ensure that it is adhered to throughout Germany, we opened the headquarters based in Munich in 2012.
2016

The large refugee movement in 2015/2016 posed a major challenge for Germany.
We responded to this social change by adapting our concept to this new target group and creating JOBLINGE Kompass, which is tailored to the needs of young refugees in terms of integration into the labor market.

2019

Our Klassik and Kompass programs are now successful throughout Germany and our concept is well established. We initiated PLAN A, our innovative training campaign, in order to use our expertise to help even more young people without training – even if they are not receiving support from the job center or employment agency.

2021

To ensure not only the activation and placement of young people, but also their support during their training, we opened the first basecamp in Frankfurt in 2021. With this place for networking and further training, we support trainees during their apprenticeship- regardless of whether they have been in contact with us before or not.

2022

A new management structure is created with the change of CEO Ulrike Garanin leaving JOBLINGE. Together with Kadim Tas, she had formed a dual leadership team for JOBLINGE for many years. Kadim Tas is now CEO. In addition, a team of six long-standing managers from the JOBLINGE headquarters support him as a management team in key areas of the organization’s development.

2023

We are developing our vision for JOBLINGE #2030. As an initiative, we want to have supported a total of 100,000 young people on their way into an apprenticeship by 2030. To achieve this, we are expanding our programs before and after the actual JOBLINGE program. For example, by developing new digital and hybrid offerings, scaling up our PLAN A activation project, providing support in basecamps and opening up further regions in Germany.
